Gospel means good message.
What is the gospel?
It is called a good message because it is about how our lives can come out of the darkness and into the light. Now unless someone actually prefers darkness, despair and death, I cannot believe this message will not be good news to all who hear it? Is medicine good news to the sick? Aren’t there enough sad and lonely people in the world already today that they should not know that there is some good news?
There is brilliant news – Jesus Christ is risen and is Lord and he saves everyone who wants to be saved from this sad and fading world. “The gospel God promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord… this gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” Ro 1:16.
